The SIMBA Consortium Meeting took place from 18-19 October 2021. Organised by ENEA this meeting was particularly significant as it was the first partner meeting to take place in person since the pandemic began.
The meeting took place in the historic Villa Lubin in Rome, Italy. The packed agenda featured presentations on the progress of each work package, a meeting of the general assembly and, a meeting with the External Scientific Advisory Board. A social dinner took place on the evening of Monday, 18th October, which allowed partners a chance to relax and reconnect in person. Those attending also had some time to explore the beautiful city of Rome at night.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation and restrictions on travel within some partner organisations, the meeting took place in a hybrid format, with roughly half of participants attending online. The technical staff at Villa Lubin and ENEA worked hard to ensure that the meeting proceeded seamlessly and that everyone attending felt included, whether that was in person or online.
What was clear from the meeting is that there are a lot of results and innovations being produced by SIMBA partners. We’re already looking forward to the updates at the next partner meeting!
