The microbiome at the heart of sustainable food production

25 Jul 2019

As the world population is continuously growing, food supply and equal access to food are two of the major issues and challenges of the near future. Microbes are still unexploited tools to increase food productivity, quality and safety. For this purpose, efforts are currently being made to identify innovative solutions derived from microbiomes to increase competitiveness and sustainability of food systems, creating products that are closer to consumers’ needs.

As part of European BioTech Week SIMBA project partner ENEA is hosting a meeting with Italian stakeholders researching the potential of the microbiome in sustainable food production.

Note: The event and discussions will be hosted in Italian.
